20 things to know about me

1. What made me want to write this blog?

To finally write it, a global panini ;), but I have wanted to start it since I did my first overseas trip.

            2. Who do I look up to?

I am inspired by other female travellers that take the social norms and kind of just ignore them if it doesn’t align with their life. I appreciate honest and real humans that don’t sugar coat things for likes. And my family, who have always been supportive of me.

            3. What has required the most courage?

Without a doubt moving abroad. It takes so much self belief to leave behind a support network and go it alone. Yes, it 'gets easier' but it is never truly simple or comfortable.

            4. What is one thing I would change about myself?

That tiny voice that likes to try and make me doubt my decisions. That voice needs to shut the f* up because I’m 95% likely to do it anyway.

            5. What am I looking forward to most in 2020?

At the start of the year I landed an amazing opportunity to do a management program in Dubai. I am excited to see where that takes me, make new friends and explore a new part of the world.

            6. What is my dream job?

My dream job would be an animal photographer, who doesn’t want to photograph adorable puppies all day long?! For now, I get my fix on Instagram (@catsdogphotography).

            7. What is my favourite aspect of travel?

Seeing the best tourist sites that a destination has to offer is fantastic, but my favourite part is the people. Making friends around the world is the best, most heartbreaking thing. I also feel like every time I travel, I find out a little something about myself that I can bring back and use in real life.

            8. What is at the top of my bucket list?

In the next 3 years, Morocco & Portugal!

            9. Favourite travel destination to date?

Whitsundays, December 2019.

            10. Spontaneous or planned trips?

Planned to an extent, I always make sure I have accommodation booked and paid for, so that’s one less stress. I also try to find other travellers or locals to go on adventures with in a destination (usually the next day) and these make up some of my favourite travel stories.

            11. My favourite social media channel?

Definitely Instagram because of the variety of content I see. As well as the positive, feel good pages that I make the effort to follow.

            12. My favourite quality about myself?

My ability to form instant connections with people. I am known for being ‘everyone’s friend’ which I think is a pretty good reputation to have.

            13. What does my ideal Sunday look like?

Packing up with a friend in tow for a day trip to somewhere close by. Making sure that I have a picnic ready to go and as always, my camera.

            14. Books or movies?

I would say books. I am constantly reading something, but I equally love a good Netflix binge weekend. Balance is key.

            15. A quote that I resonate with.

‘It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are’- E.E. Cummings.

You have to do what’s best for you, and not everyone will always understand your choices. It’s hard because we all naturally seek out approval. I’m still in the process of learning to trust myself and the process.

            16. What is one thing I wish I could tell a younger version of myself?

Eventually you will learn to love everything that you are, and the haters will just become background noise.

            17. Introvert or Extrovert?

Extrovert 100%, I am a people person always & I don’t see a reason that would ever change.

18. Favourite food?

My mum’s lasagna 🤤

            19. Future plans?

Continue to learn & grow as a person, travel & share my knowledge.

            20. Life motto?

Jump into life with 120% but always have a plan b ready in case it doesn’t work out.
